Fulbright Student Grant for 2008-2009 Application Amerika
Info Beasiswa Terbaru D3, S1, S2, S3 dalam dan luar negeriFulbright provides full funding for a year abroad in over 100 countries for graduating seniors and graduate students who are U.S. citizens. Fulbright full grants generally provide round-trip transportation; language or orientation courses, where appropriate; tuition, in some cases; book and research allowances; a maintenance allowance for the academic year, based on living costs in the host country; and supplemental health and accident insurance.

A certain portion of the awards are reserved for graduating seniors. While excellence in the field of study and a strong academic record are preconditions for this fellowship, candidates are also selected using the following criteria: their project is both valid and feasible, they have the language qualifications they need for their specific program, have knowledge of the host country, and they possess characteristics that may make them a good ambassador. Currently enrolled students are strongly encouraged to be endorsed by USC, rather than applying “at large.”

Eligibility: Candidates must:

* be a U.S. Citizen
* hold a bachelor’s degree before the beginning of the grant date, but not a doctorate
* present a study, plan, or project that can be completed in one academic year

The scholarships are awarded to assist outstanding students studying programs in the Social and Behavioural Sciences at The University of Queensland. Priority will be given to postgraduate research or coursework students, however undergraduate students with high academic achievement are encouraged to apply.

To be eligible for a fee scholarship, you must be an international student and eligible for an Australian government student visa.

Students will be selected on academic merit in conjunction with consideration of the relevance of the country of origin to the Faculty/University strategic directions.

Coursework students will be funded for the entire duration of their program and subject to satisfactory academic performance. PhD students may only be funded for a period of 12 months, and are encouraged to seek alternative funding sources. A student failing to maintain satisfactory academic performance during the duration of the scholarship may be required to show cause why the scholarship should not be cancelled.

The scholarship cannot be held concurrently with any other similar scholarship or bursary for tuition fees.

The Universitat Bern will offer international students Excellence Scholarships for postgraduate study for the academid year 2008/09. The scholarship consists of 1600 CHF per month for the entire duration of the Master’s programme.

Master’s Programmes

Criteria for selection:

Applicants must, by end of July 2008, have graduated with at least a Bachelor’s degree in the same field of study as the selected Master’s programme

School of Geography, Archaeology & Earth Resources (Studentships and Fellowships)

Exeter Graduate Fellowships offer the chance to undertake 4 years of fully-funded PhD research while also gaining valuable teaching experience. In addition to their doctoral research, Fellows (who will be based at the Exeter campus) undertake teaching and teaching-related duties for up to 180 hours per year and receive a stipend of approx ?12,500 p.a. and full payment of fees (UK/EU or overseas). Doctoral research projects will be developed in collaboration with permanent academic staff and applications are encouraged from those with common or complimentary research interests. Applicants should have at least a good 2.1 degree (or equivalent) in Geography or a cognate discipline. The Environmental Processes and Change research group that provides the overarching structure for Physical Geography at Exeter incorporates the following 3 clusters:

River Basin Science
Environmental Modelling
Environmental Change.

The Chair (Unit) of Engineering Mechanics (IfM) is an internationally recognized research
institution, whose scientific staff holds a prominent role in the development of methods for
structural reliability analysis and computational stochastic mechanics.

Project Description – Applicants Profile

The project in which the applicant will be involved in is entitled „Quality Assurance of Mechanical Systems and Structures” and is sponsored by the Austrian Science Foundation (FWF). It is concerned with the development of procedures to assess the robustness of largescale structural models (e.g. the Ariane Launcher, shown on the right).
The ideal applicant has a degree in either civil, mechanical, aeronautical engineering (or a related discipline), a solid background in computational mechanics (FE) and programming (MATLAB, C++) and a good command of the English language. Proficiency in one of the major general purpose finite element codes (e.g. NASTRAN) and familiarity with probability/statistics are advantageous.
